Learn how to say ,,How much is it?'' in Georgian
,,How much is it?'' in Georgian

There are two common ways to ask for the price of something in Georgian:

1. -------- რა ღირს?

Pronunciation:  -------- ra ghirs

Meaning: How much is ...?

Insert the name of the item you want to buy in the blank. If you don’t know the Georgian word for the item, you can simply use ეს (es), which means “this” in English. So the full sentence would be:ეს რა ღირს?

Pronunciation: es ra ghirs

Meaning: How much is this?

2. -------- ფასი რა არის?

Pronunciation: ... pasi ra aris?

Meaning: What is the price of ...?

In this case, add the noun in the genitive case in place of the blank. For example, if you want to ask about the price of a bag: ჩანთის ფასი რა არის?

Pronunciation: chantis pasi ra aris?

Meaning: What is the price of the bag?

Here, the noun ჩანთა (chanta) meaning ,,bag'' becomes ჩანთის (chantis) in the genitive case by adding the suffix -ის (-is).

If you’re unsure of the Georgian word for the item, you can use the following phrase:

ამის ფასი რა არის?

Pronunciation: amis pasi ra aris

Meaning: What is the price of this?

ამის (amis) means “of this” and can be used instead of a specific noun.
